mahkoh,
I'm up 13% right now on this trade. It would have been bumpy had I not gotten filled around the open. That's why timing is a huge factor.

It's obvious that if safe the system potentially is very profitable assuming shares were available and you could get out of a position. I would be interested if I knew more about it.
Questions I have are,
What is the absolute biggest spike you have ever seen a stock go up, not with your system but in general?
Would someone with no collateral be best suited to trade this, someone who has no home to lose?
And if they have nothing to lose, are they on the hook for anything?
Will they close out positions for you so it doesn't get real bad?
Can you set this up in an LLC?
Just too risky for me but could work for someone with nothing to lose.

shillllihs,
1. When companies in the OTC market get rid of their convertible debt or engage in a reverse merger, typically, their stock will go parabolic, sometimes in the hundred's or even in the thousands of %'s.
VYST is a shining example that ran well over 1,000%.
2. Short selling microcap equities isn't for beginners, its for seasoned traders who have a high risk tolerance.
3. Not sure what you mean by 'on the hook'.
4. It's called a margin call and it could be avoided if you have enough equity in your account to cover potential losses or other conditions-depending on your broker.
5. Dunno.

What I mean by on the hook is let's say someone with no possessions who shorted 60k messed up and they ended up owing 200k, they can't come after them for anything more or would there be a judgement on them to continue to pay off their debt even though they're broke. Someone like that could just file bankruptcy I suppose.

With most brokers you'd be stopped out before the losses exceed a specific % of your account equity.

some brokers will also restrict your exposure to certain positions relative to your account size

Looks like ELTK is up at it again. You plan on playing it tomorrow?

ELTK , I don't like that it closed at a new 18 month high, could fill the gap from late 2017. And it traded 17 times shares outstanding, that is crazy.
I'm going to put in a limit order to short near 15.
