I'm guessing it was Four. Kudos goes to Four and Riggs.

I would recommend you read this post, especially about embedded Slo Sto 14,3. Then look at charts like XIV and other strong trading charts either in an uptrend or downtrend. An embedded slo sto can keep you in the trend longer where you do not sell too early.

Click on the second filter I posted. It should be sorting by C-STO. C-STO is the average of the daily slo sto 14,3 and weekly slo sto 14,3.

Dave, if you can, how did SDS perform 01/08-05/09?
This could be telling.

Without even looking I'm guessing it was mixed. From what I remember the S&P fell below the 200 MA in Dec 2007 and then price rose back above the 200 MA for a month or so. From what I remember the market went down slowly/sideways until Sept/Oct before it really started tanking. I only remember bonds and the dollar making money in consistent money 2008. I'm guessing SDS made decent money but not consistently like TLT. With that said, I'm going into PortfolioVisualizer to see what SDS made between 11/15/07 - 4/30/09.

I'm back - SDS made 60.24%. So, looks like we can all make money in a down market as long as there is a trend.

Thanx Dave.
Was that trading Sds both ways or one way. Or was that trading Sso,Sds?

The filter I posted is not perfect. It is triggering SOXS as a buy and SOXL as a sell. I would not buy SOXS. This is where relative strength comes in. Most of the low relative strength buy signals are going to be quick in and out plays. Probably not worth the hassle or risk.
